Score Your Landing Page

Four questions every visitor asks. Score each one out of five. Then fix the first one that fails.

Each section tells you what to do. Do it, then pick the level that matches what you found. Score one traffic source at a time. Score what is on the screen, not what you know about the business. If a fact is not on the page, it does not count.

Fix this first

Saving is available once all four are scored.

Why the first failure, and not the lowest score

The four are a chain. Break one link and nothing after it matters.

    • Clarity gates ChangeYou cannot want a change you never understood was on offer.
    • Change gates ConfidenceProof is proof of something. No promise made, nothing for the testimonials to make believable.
    • Confidence gates CostNobody cares that signing up takes thirty seconds if they do not believe it works.

So if you score 2 on Clarity and 1 on Cost, do not go and fix the form. Nobody is reaching the form.

    Scoring it honestly

    1. One traffic source at a time. The same page is a different page to someone arriving from Google versus a retargeting ad.
    2. Score the screen, not your knowledge. You know the business. The visitor does not.
    3. Two people, scored separately. Where you disagree by two or more, the page is ambiguous. That gap is itself the finding.

A 3 or below is a fail. Anything at 4 or 5 is working well enough to leave alone for now.
